Scholarly Communication Librarian – University Library at the University of California, Santa Cruz

The University Library at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for the position of Scholarly Communication Librarian. Under the direction of the Head of Research Support Services, the Scholarly Communication Librarian will spearhead Library-wide efforts to: (1) advance alternatives to high-cost publishing models, including open access initiatives, and (2) provide scholarly publishing guidance and training to researchers and scholars, including guidance on copyright.

 

The University of California is actively engaged in efforts to transform scholarly publishing. We seek a collaborative, user-focused, creative, and motivated individual to help the UCSC Library shape our role as a leader in these efforts. The Scholarly Communication Librarian will help set the direction and scope of author services provided by the Library and lead efforts to develop a campus community of practice surrounding open access and scholarly communication.
