IT Director – Peninsula Library System
The Peninsula Library System (PLS), located in San Mateo, California, is recruiting for an Information Technology (IT) Director. The IT Director reports to the Executive Director and assumes broad responsibilities for oversight of thetechnology operations of the as well as for other contracting organizations and agencies.
PLS supports the technology systems and infrastructure for 34 library locations (including one data center). The IT Director supervises a technology unit of four staff, who provide excellent technical support and IT services for the member libraries. The IT Director is responsible for developing and maintaining a high level of security, stability, and performance for the network and systems. This position also requires promoting and implementing products and services that reflect modern technology in the libraries. They also ensures that the IT Department is responsive, effective, and functioning within the limits of budget, time, and specifications of the organization.
PLS is in the heart of Silicon Valley and library patrons expect the best customer service experience. The successful candidate is an experienced IT Manager who can balance the needs of patrons, libraries, and other stakeholders. They demonstrate integrity, are familiar with the security needs of libraries and patron data, have sound fiscal management, and exhibit excellent management skills. They also possess a strong commitment to customer service and building resilient relationships that respect diversity of identity, background, perspective, culture, experience, and ability.
