The Pacific Library Partnership Staff Development Committee (PLPSDC) sponsors two major library staff development events each year: the Spring Workshop, appropriate for all levels of library staff, and the annual Future of Libraries conference in the fall.
The committee has a long history and was formerly the BALIS/MOBAC/NBCLS/PLS/SVLS Staff Development Committee, the Golden Gateway Library Network Staff Development Committee and the Library Staff Development Committee of the Greater Bay Area. The committee identifies areas of interest to stimulate ideas and discussion regarding library training and development needs with an emphasis on building staff knowledge and skills in new and emerging areas.
All library members in the Pacific Libraries Partnership are invited to send representatives to the Staff Development Committee. Other library representatives and those working with libraries may be considered for membership on a case-by-case basis.
